Choose more often:

  • Granary or seeded breads
  • Low fat spread instead of butter or no spread
  • Fillings such as ham, tuna, salmon, poultry, beef, egg or cottage cheese, roasted vegetables, low fat cream cheese
  • Ask for low fat yogurt as alternative dressing
  • Container of salad as extra or roasted vegetables, tomato or grated vegetables in sandwich
  • Baked potato (no butter) with baked beans, cottage cheese, vegetable chilli/curry, tuna without mayonnaise, baked beans plus side salad
  • Current bun or scone with jam and no butter

Avoid in general:

  • Mayonnaise, salad cream, coleslaw
  • Cream cheese or too much full fat cheese
  • Triple decker, deep fill or 3 sandwich packs
  • Fried foods, e.g. sausage or bacon.
  • Pastry, fresh cream cake or chocolate cake
