Starters:

Salads, fruit juice, fruit cocktail, grapefruit & ginger, melon & berries, clear vegetable/ bean/ lentil soup

Grilled fish or shellfish (with no dressing) or smoked salmon.

Main course:

Steamed, baked, poached or chargrilled fish, roast chicken or turkey (without skin), gammon with pineapple, small fillet steak, vegetable omelette

Sides:

New potatoes, jacket or sweet potato (no butter), small granary roll, lentils, mixed bean salad, roasted vegetables, undressed salads

Dessert:

Fruit salad, poached pear in wine, baked apple, fruit compote, sorbet

Coffee with low fat milk

Avoid in general:

  • Pate, deep fried mushrooms, deep fried whitebait, egg mayonnaise, creamy soups or dips, bread basket
  • Creamy or high fat dressings and sauces
  • Fried foods, pastry items
  • Hamburger, cheeseburger, chips
  • Creamed spinach, coleslaw
  • Pastries, tarts, gateaux, cheesecake
  • Coffee with cream
