Choose more often:
- Bread sticks or plain crusty bread
- Mixed or tomato salads with limited dressing, tomato based sauces
- Dishes including lots of vegetables
- Risotto, gnocchi, tortellini filled with spinach/ ricotta
- Thin based pizza with vegetable, spinach, ham, tuna, prawn topping. Share a pizza with a friend
- Pasta with tomato or seafood based sauces e.g. arrabiata, neopolitan, piccata
- Only a sprinkling of parmesan
- Cannelloni - spinach replaces some of meat
Avoid in general:
- Garlic bread, especially cheese topped
- Oil brushed breads
- Creamy/buttery/cheesy/meat sauces e.g. in lasagne, carbonara, alfredo, bolognese
- Sausage pepperoni and other fatty meats on pizza & in pasta dishes
- Extra added cheese
- Tiramisu
