Choose more often:

  • Bread sticks or plain crusty bread
  • Mixed or tomato salads with limited dressing, tomato based sauces
  • Dishes including lots of vegetables
  • Risotto, gnocchi, tortellini filled with spinach/ ricotta
  • Thin based pizza with vegetable, spinach, ham, tuna, prawn topping. Share a pizza with a friend
  • Pasta with tomato or seafood based sauces e.g. arrabiata, neopolitan, piccata
  • Only a sprinkling of parmesan
  • Cannelloni - spinach replaces some of meat

Avoid in general:

  • Garlic bread, especially cheese topped
  • Oil brushed breads
  • Creamy/buttery/cheesy/meat sauces e.g. in lasagne, carbonara, alfredo, bolognese
  • Sausage pepperoni and other fatty meats on pizza & in pasta dishes
  • Extra added cheese
  • Tiramisu
