Choose more often:
Most dishes are prepared to order so you can request a minimum of oil, salt & sugar.
- Won-ton, abalone or hot & sour soup
- Chicken with chilli dipping sauce
- Steamed/ boiled rice & noodles
- Chicken, vegetable, prawn chop suey
- Steamed, jum (poached), kow (roasted), shu (barbecued)
- Steamed dim sum
- Stir fried dishes rather than deep-fried or request steamed/ boiled vegetable dishes.
- Steamed fish with ginger, vegetables & rice
- Tofu dishes provided not fried
- Medium fat dishes: satay, chow mein
- Fruit or fruit sorbet
Avoid in general:
- Fried starters e.g. prawn crackers, spring rolls, fried wantons, egg rolls, sesame prawn roll
- Fried rice and noodles
- Deep fried or battered meat e.g. sweet & sour, lemon chicken, crispy fried beef or duck, poultry with skin, spare ribs
- Fruit fritters
- Large amounts of MSG
